Russia’s recent nuclear threats have revived Cold War animosity with roots in the Cuban missile crisis. During ​a standoff in 1962, a tense confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union nearly resulted in a nuclear war.

In the summer of 1944, engulfed by a war spread across three continents, the US Army made a foray into some unlikely territory: producing Broadway-style musicals.

In the winter of 2017, Waterwell in association with Under the Radar Festival, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum have excavated and revived these unknown shows as a collaboration between artists and veterans. In a time, where art is needed most, watch as these creators celebrate the importance of producing theatre for both the military and the American public at large.

Magic has been a part of the theatre since the very beginning. The work varies from illusions to stunts to special effects and so much more. Watch as magic makers from The Illusionists – Turn of the Century, Broadway Illusionist Jim Steinmeyer, and members from the production of The Magic Play at The Goodman Theatre share the history and present nature of magic in the theatre.

For twenty years, photographer Shannon Taggart has been taking pictures of the world’s largest Spiritualist community in Lily Dale, New York – and other smaller communities around the world.

In her exciting quest to capture the invisible, Ms Taggart achieved surprising results. Her search for the ectoplasm – a substance believed to be both spiritual and material - lead her to explore not only the tricks of the trade and its neglected photographic history, but also its lesser-known links to science, prominent historical and intellectual figures, and the women's rights movement.

This is a story about the “other” muslims. In a small spanish town in the inspiring Alpujarra mountains, in Andalusia, 35 families of westerners live a simple life as newly converted muslims, following the traces of Sufism, considered by many as the mystic and most spiritual branch of Islam.

The production White Rabbit Red Rabbit, a unique production at the Westside Theatre, provides us with the basic practices of creating theatre: writer writes, producer selects, actor performs. But, in this instance, the one person show, demonstrates what we often take for granted. The actor about to perform has never seen it. In fact, there is a new actor every performance, and they’ve only been told what is absolutely necessary. And more, the writer, Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour can not have his work produced in his homeland.
